What is Economic Sustainability?

There is not a ‘formal’ United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or Global Compact definition for Economic Sustainability. However, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the role of business, Build Global’s Managing Partner, Sabrina Clarke, has provided a definition.

Build Global’s definition for Economic Sustainability is:

Economic Sustainability in the business context is when a company makes money while conserving the natural and human resources that provide inputs for economic production, renewable and exhaustible, producing outputs and profit.

Our niche is Social and Economic Sustainability, focusing on the supply chain.

We are launching Build Global Updates, where we will share thought leadership and insights that challenge the status and forecast the future of crucial Social and Economic Sustainability issues. The spaces will be intentionally limited, Chatham House rule and will not be recorded given the subject matter.
